What is a followup unsubscribe message?

To comply with SMS/texting rules, you need to do two things the first time you contact someone via text.

  1. Identify yourself clearly.
  2. Give the recipient a way to unsubscribe from your messages.

The Followup Unsubscribe Message helps you comply with the latter. This message is auto-appended to the very first text message you send to a lead. The keyword you must use in your message is the word STOP. Then a lead can simply reply STOP and will be auto-unsubscribed from your conversation.

This is not optional. If you don't add your own custom message here, we will auto-append one for you.

Here's a sample message.

This is Bob White with White Realty. Did you want to schedule a showing of 123 Main St? Let me know, and I'll book us a time. If you don't want to hear from me anymore, just reply STOP.
